Art has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. My Mother was very artistic and a great artist so I give her credit for passing on the creativity gene. I’ve done many types of arts and crafts throughout my life.

Becoming an art teacher at a private Christian school brought me to the next level. I hadn’t been pursuing anything art related for a while until this opportunity came along. Wanting to give the students every opportunity to experience many art mediums caused me to get back to being a student myself. My family gifted me with a beginner pottery class at a local college. It came very natural to me and I was a quick learner. I was hooked right away and loved the experience of making something from a lump of clay into a functional piece. It’s really like magic!

I love the diversity of making, whether its on the pottery wheel or hand building. Trying new techniques and exploring my creativity through my work makes it very satisfying. I take my inspiration from nature, art and textures using many different techniques and applications. Sometimes I’ll use plants from my garden or hand carve plants and flowers in my designs.

I’ve been married for 38 years to my wonderful husband and best friend. We have been blessed with 3 children and 5 grandchildren, with a 6th & 7th on the way.
